Local housing resources
City of Centennial's Housing and Home Assistance guide: https://www.centennialco.gov/Residents/Living-Here/Home-Assistance-Programs. It lists home energy, weatherization, homeowner rebates and a housing-policy study, not named rental buildings, open apartment applications, or property-level criminal-history screening. The https://www.centennialco.gov/Government/City-Projects-and-Initiatives/Housing discusses housing costs, needs and policy; it is not a current vacancy directory. Sources reviewed 2026-09-28. Arapahoe County Weatherization Assistance: https://www.arapahoeco.gov/your_county/county_departments/community_resources/assistance_programs/weatherization_assistance/index.php. The county describes free energy audits and eligible insulation, air sealing and furnace-safety work for qualifying low-income Arapahoe and Adams County households. Owner-occupied houses and rental homes up to four units can qualify; renters need landlord consent. Its page gives an income threshold below 60% of state median income and lists other eligibility and documentation rules. Call the county Weatherization Office at 303-636-1982 or check its application page before applying. Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP): https://cdhs.colorado.gov/leap. Colorado says applications for the 2026–27 heating season begin November 1, 2026 and run through April 30, 2027; they were not open on 2026-09-28. LEAP can help eligible households pay a portion of winter home-heating costs, including renters who pay for heating as part of rent. The current state page gives a maximum household income of 60% of state median income and the season's household-size limits. For heating emergencies or help outside the season, call 1-866-432-8435. Centennial links to the county https://arapahoeco.gov/your_county/county_departments/human_services/food_financial_and_medical_benefits/heat_and_energy_assistance.php page, whose example dates still say 2022–23; use the state page for current dates and rules. Energy Resource Center (ERC): https://erc-co.org/. The nonprofit describes free home energy-efficiency upgrades for income-qualified households. Centennial links to it, but the ERC service-area list reviewed 2026-09-28 does not name Arapahoe County; contact ERC to confirm whether a Centennial home is covered before relying on this option. The city's https://www.centennialco.gov/Residents/Health-Environment/Energy-Action-Plan also links to resident energy-efficiency information, not rental housing. Centennial Home Improvement Program (HIP): https://www.centennialco.gov/Government/Departments/Building/Home-Improvement-Program. The city says all 2026 rebate funds have been used and expects a new funding cycle in 2027; check the page for updates in January 2027 rather than applying now. Its ordinary rebates of up to $300 are for qualifying Centennial homeowners with homes built before 1990, for eligible permitted improvements. Listed accessibility improvements have an exception to the home-age rule and require a permit. Rebates are subject to funding and other eligibility rules. This is a homeowner repair rebate, not rent assistance or an available apartment.
